Did the Amerie Nose Job or Beyonce Breast Job Give off a Negative Tone to African American Women?
More and more African American women who are in the public spot light (from singers to actresses) are getting their looks modified to better their careers. Most do it indiscreetly and in such a subtle way that leaves some people wondering, “Did she or didn’t she?” However, when you put a before and after photograph next to one another, you can certainly tell the change. In the cases of nose reduction surgeries, singers Patty LaBelle and Kelly Rowland and actress Vivica A. Fox have all had Rhinoplasty surgeries done to give their noses a slimmer appearance. It is rumored that former Destiny’s Child singer Beyonce also went through a nose reduction surgery as well as breast augmentation. The singer Amerie nose job was not a subtle reduction. While her appearance did improve drastically, she resembles nothing of herself pre-surgery.
