One particular type of behavior associated with hoarding relates to animals. This is traditionally attributed to the woman who continually accumulates cats, but it can fit with any type of animal. This only happens in a small number of cases, but it does happen. The individual becomes obsessed with acquiring as many pets as they can, regardless of how it affects their life or their personal health. They may continue their behavior even after being warned by the city simply because they cannot change their behavior.
