If you are wanting a position with a law firm as a legal secretary but have never worked in one before, you should start your search by applying to the smaller local law firms in your area. The smaller firms have a less hectic load and are more willing to train an interested individual than a large law firm. Larger law firms expect their legal secretaries to have some form of formal training in the secretarial field. It is possible to get a job without the experience or the training, but it is hard to do. So long as your skills are up to par, you should not have too much trouble.
