Getting to the Point
There seems to be one great major issue with the points in frequent flyer programs: coming up with the system itself. It appears that there are constant discussions over just what a point is really worth in these packages. These plans many times get valued at about 2 cents per mile traveled, which can actually be a lot less, if you factor in things such as available seats for those who have gained rewards points. When carriers do their own books, it would appear that they only consider point redemption to count at a rate of less than 1/1000 of one cent per mile. frequent flyer points
