My husband and I run a small business from our home. It is very service oriented and it is important to us that our customers know that we appreciate them. Look for natural solid wood furniture, with natural, non-toxic finishes and adhesives that do not off-gas. At a minimum, smell your furniture before buying it! 4. Is the furniture made in the USA? American made furniture is built to higher standards than most imports which are produced cheaply in sweatshops in China and VietNam. And since you are closer to US manufacturers, you have a much better chance of getting them to resolve any potential problems, should they arise down the road. 5. My roommate wants to buy me new office furniture for my new office.  Well, the office is here inside the house so, actually, my roommate will be wanting to use the room also.  She has picked out matching desks to put on the opposite walls of the room.  This must be her way to ask if she can share the room!  It’s okay if we don’t spend all of our time there just talking and not actually working.  It should work.  We just need to pick perfect desks that help with organizing and comfortable chairs so we will want to go there and work.
