My View On “Getting Going: Why Are Women Afraid of Investing?”
I find it ironic that recent studies show women are less confident but past studies actually conclude women are the better investors.
Speaking as a successful investor I think that’s because women more readily admit when they don’t know the answer – and don’t feel the need to put money at risk when they are uncertain; ie, they are more risk averse. Men, on the other hand tend to try to bluff their way through, also not knowing, but unwilling to admit it – even to themselves.
I think if one looks at historical perdating advice for womenmance in stocks you’d find women had a far larger number of successful trades than men, but when the mens trades were successful they made more money per trade.
