How the DFAS Decides the Military Pay Chart
Every year, the Defense Finance Accounting Services department of the military meets with the President of the United States to help determine any increases in salary that those enlisted in the armed forces will receive. The meeting discusses the budgetary issues involved in this process and makes the determination from there. Once the President has approved the contract, a military pay chart from the DFAS is made. This chart is made for every soldier from those who are just beginning their military careers with less than one year of experience and with the lowest Private ranking, to a seasoned military officer with 25+ year’s experience. The charts are straight forward and cut and dry without any politics involved, making it easy to understand and accept.
