The American Health Data Institute (AHDI) is a membership organization for the medical transcription  profession. It provides a Model Curriculum for Medical Transcription. It is widely used by educators, to develop educational programs. AHDI also offers some audio tapes and CD’s that can be used in the classroom and by independent students.

AHDI also recommends The AAMT (American Association for Medical Transcription) Book of Style for Medical Transcription. This book is in its 2nd edition. It is referred to as the gold standard in the industry.
