Symptoms of alcohol dependancy
There are several signs that indicate a person is becoming dependent on alcohol and some of the symptoms and behaviours are -
More frequent drinking and drinking larger amounts
Making a conscious effort to seek drinking opportunities
Drinking more alcohol without apparent impairment
Drinking before going out to social events
Frequent blackouts or not remembering what happened
Unsuccessful attempts to stop
Drinking earlier in the day or having a ‘little nip’ when stressed
Self neglect such as not eating properly and not keeping clean
Problems at work and with the law
It is important that these symptoms are addressed so that help can be given to the individual recovering from alchohol addiction.
