Laptops are Going Green
One of the ultimate goals for many organizations is to develop a computer that delivers the same amount of processing power while simultaneously consuming much less electrical power. Right now there is a movement to design laptops that use the most recent technology to accomplish this goal, but there are some developers that are even taking “green” laptops to the next step.
It’s about recycling and using recycled materials to their fullest extent. There is at least one company that has started producing the chassis for their laptops with a large portion of it made from recycled DVDs and CDs. These are materials that would otherwise have gone to waste. You can actually help the environment and still get a powerful, portable computer.
