Basement Waterproofing Protects in Storms
We never gave much thought to the musty odors that were coming from our basement. We live in the Midwest; summers are humid and stormy, and we sometimes get a little dampness, but doesn’t everybody? Well, last year we had a bad storm and the power went out. Our sump pump didn’t work and we woke up to two feet of water in our basement. The stench was horrible. The damage was in the thousands. And the worst part was that our neighbors, whose house is nearly identical to ours, didn’t have any damage at all, because years earlier they had remodeled their basement and had basement cement waterproofing done. The contractor had applied a sealant to the cement to help keep water and moisture out, so their basement was able to withstand the flood damage. Now our basement is watertight, too!
